Building a Mystery: 20/365
The very first thing that attracted me to photography was the abstract. This picture from Saturday, June 19 is a good example of what I mean. For some reason, on that day these numbers that I’ve probably walked by 143 times stood out to me. The quasi-reflective quality of the shadows are probably what made me stop. I tried a few different compositions, showing more and less of the actual numbers. I liked this one because the numbers are identifiable, but you still have to take a moment to work it out.
A consistent theme in photography for me is the pursuit of the absolute smallest amount of something you can show while still maintaining the subject’s integrity. Here’s to keeping it mysterious.

You describe it better than I. It’s still a mystery to me. I rely on “a picture is worth a thousand words” to best describe what it is, and why!, I’m photographing something.
Great shot and composition too BTW.
I\’m not easily imrpsesed. . . but that\’s impressing me!
