That’s SEW Amazing! 12/365

It’s Friday, and I’m driving west on Pico…must be sewing day.

Friday, June 11 was our third session. Just one more to go after this. That means that in just about a week, I’ll have completed one very ugly pair of pants. Nothing wrong with the pattern or anything, I just think that the fabric I chose is a bit much for full length pants. We had the option to make shorts or capris, but I wanted full length. That’s because all I seem to be able to find at the store lately are capris. It’s not my favorite length. Not even a little.

But I’ll soon know just how to shorten these ugly long pants if I want. YES!

I am a big fan of meticulous craftsmanship. One of the best things about sewing class is seeing the garments our teacher, Russell, has made. He was wearing his own jeans and shirt on Friday, and I could see how well made they were. You don’t get clothes like that where I normally shop. No doubt he paid more for his materials than the $7.99 I normally put down for a finished garment - but you can’t argue about the difference in quality.

Those seams! Did you see the SEAMS on that guy?

(swoon)
