Keep the Mystery Alive
This fence caught my eye because of the way the late afternoon sun was hitting it. But I often look for photos in fences, I think. Maybe it’s because I wonder what they are hiding. And as for what’s visible, my mind has to fill in the missing details- that can be more fun than having everything revealed at once.

So many questions. Why is it there? Who did it? Did they have another shoe to wear home? Do they want it back? Is this a symbolic gesture of some kind?

We participated in Earth Hour this past Saturday night. It also happened to be the anniversary of my first date with my husband.
That’s me standing in our back yard, waving a lit iPhone screen in the air. I set up the shot and my hubby came out to click the shutter for me- in bare feet no less. I guess love really was in that cold night air!

Today’s photo is a riff on a modern art piece I saw at the Guggenheim in New York City years ago. The original work is entitled “Leaning, Clear, Glass, Square”, a 1965 piece by Joseph Kosuth. It was simply four panes of glass leaning against the wall. Each one had a single word on it. “Leaning” “Clear” “Glass” “Square”.
I snapped this pic with my iPhone because the Kosuth piece has become a long running joke between the friend I was with
